6th Annual Turkey Trot Helps Project Hope
About 50 people showed up Thanksgiving morning for the run/walk . They worked up an appetite for Thanksgiving dinner and helped Project Hope at the same time! Over 200 items and $70.00 were donated by the participants. Their gifts will be used to help fill 60 more totes for families at Children's Hospital in December. A BIG THANKS to the Flood family and everyone who supported this event! Your kindness and generosity are appreciated.

November Helping Hands
Thank you to everyone who helped prepare for the tote assembly! Your help shopping, organizing and preparing supplies for the Project Hope Night In and for the Tote Assembly is greatly appreciated. And a BIG thanks to Michelle Botta (hostess), her family and everyone who helped get items prepared at the Project Hope Night In . Thank you to the Girl Scout Troop, Social Work students from BCCC and friends of Project Hope who helped get the totes assembled. The assembly went very quickly and smoothly thanks to all the helping hands. The totes were delivered to Children's Hospital on November 17th. That makes 4,590 totes delivered so far. This would not be possible without all your generous support.
August Helping Hands
Camp Hot To Clot Helps Project Hope! On August 15, 2011 seventy-five kids and their adult counselors packed 60 totes for families at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. The kids were campers were attending Camp Hot to Clot (a hemophilia camp) at Camp Kon O Kwee just outside of Zelienople, PA. The kids packed the totes with great care and in record time! Thanks for all your help!
The totes were delivered to Children's Hospital on August 23, 2011. They were received by Becky Desmond and Meredith Friedrick, staff from the Child Life Department. This makes 4,470 delivered since November 2004. Thank you everyone for your generous donations of time, talent, items and monetary gifts .

Any and all of these things will help fill totes full of necessities for families at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh . The Blizzard recipes were created by students at Evans City Middle School . Two 6th grade students wrote essays about the reasons for their Blizzard choices. Stop at Dairy Queen to read the essays and try a Blizzard!! Thank you ECMS for your help! The kindness and generosity of many individuals and groups has allowed Project Hope to provide over 4,000 tote bags full of necessities to families with hospitalized children. Thank You for your support!
March '11 Helping Hands
On March 16, 2011 members of St. Peter's Reformed Church TNT Youth Group helped fill 60 more totes. The group used their boundless energy to help get ready for the assembly and get all the totes filled in a quick, efficient manner. The totes were delivered to Children's Hospital on March 17. Thank you TNT for your help!

February '11 Helping Hands
Many assembled 60 canvas tote bags packed with items at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople on Sunday, February 6th. Members and friends of the church donated more than enough items needed to fill the totes. The extra donations will be used to help fill 60 more totes in March. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
The Beaver Butler Presbyterian Women's Association donated many items when they gathered on Saturday, February 13th for a retreat. The items will be used to help fill 60 totes during the March 17th tote assembly. Thank you for your generosity!

January '11 Helping Hands
A BIG thanks to everyone that helped pack totes in January! Members of St. John's United Church of Christ in Evans City, Girl Scouts from Cadette Troop 20457 in Cranberry Township, and members of Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople helped pack 60 totes on January19, 2011 at St. Peter's Reformed Church, Zelienople. Some of the totes were filled with Willie the Tigers from Jennifer Kaufman's Avon Fundraiser. I great gift for the children to snuggle! On January 22, 2011, we delivered 60 more totes to Children's Hospital. Through the kindness and generosity of so many, Project Hope has now donated over 4,000 totes full of Hope! The hospital hosted a celebration inviting local press to recognize this milestone reached by the efforts of all those people and organizations who have helped us. Thank you to everyone who has played a part in helping Project Hope to continue its on-going mission.

700 items were donated! The items will be used to help fill 60 more canvas tote bags full of necessities on January 19, 2011. The totes will then be delivered to Families at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh on January 20, 2011.
November Helping Hands
Students at Zelienople Nursery School at Calvin Presbyterian Church created 60 beautiful holiday cards. They were added to 60 totes and delivered to Children's Hospital on December 2, 2010. Thank you ZNS students and teachers!

On November 17th 50-60 people gathered at St. Peter's Church to help pack the canvas tote bags and get them ready them for delivery to Children's Hospital. Among the helpers were several Girl Scout troops. Brownie Troop 20832, Brownie Troop 21960, Daisy Troop 20015, Junior Troop 20537 and many parents and teenagers were there lend a helping hand. Two troops were not present for the assembly but made donations. Daisy Troop 20012 donated mini bags and Junior Troop 22216 created stuffed bears to add to the totes. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to help and to everyone who worked so hard to get us ready for the assembly! The totes were delivered to Children's Hospital on November 18th.
November 19 was a Day for Hope at Connoquenessing Valley Elementary School in Zelienople. Mrs. Badaracco's first grade class helped sort over 1,200 items donated by students, teachers and staff. Mrs. Walter's second grade class presented cards and bookmarks they created. Mrs. Laurenson's third grade class donated a stuffed moose, their class mascot, for a child to snuggle. Hundreds of cards and bookmarks were created by many other CVE classes. Your donations will be used to help many families during the month of December. Thank you CVE for your kindness and generosity!
The Project Hope Wreath Fundraiser was a success! Thank you to everyone who purchased a wreath(s), sold wreaths or helped spread the word! 136 wreaths were sold, 43 more than last year! The fundraiser generated $650.00 from the wreath sales alone and another $350.00 from individuals donating above an beyond the wreath price. Project Hope is truly blessed to be supported so well by the community! Thank you!
The Gamma Upsilon Chapter of Kappa Delta Espilo n (an honorary educational society) at La Roche College held fundraisers in October to support Project Hope. The KDE members had a carwash, a Halloween themed bake sale, and a basket raffle to raise money for Project Hope. They raised over $400 and used $100 to buy supplies for and fill the candy, mint, and Qtip bags. They then donated the other $300 in a check. Their generous donation was used to help fill the December totes. A special thanks to Dr. Kathryn Silvis, Faculty Advisor and Jennifer Celender, KDE President for organizing this help!
KDE member Maggie Kelly, is also a member of Sigma Tau Delta, English Honorary Society at La Roche College . Maggie organized a donation of stationery kits. This group was able to buy supplies for, and assemble stationary kits. These kits were placed in the December totes. They also donated miscellaneous supplies that will be used in the January group of totes. Thank you Sigma Tau Delta for your kindness and generosity!
Pictured below are items donated during the Turkey Trot on November 25, 2010. Thank you to the Flood Family for hosting this event and to all those who participated in the rain! Many who were not able to participate, due to the wet weather, dropped off donations. Thank you to all who supported this event. It was a wonderful way to honor Tyler's memory on his birthday, he would have been 15 this year.

October Helping Hands
Jennifer Kaufman, a local AvonRepresentative, held another fundraiser to benefit Project Hope. She was able to raise $450.00 and 40 Willie the Tigers were donated. The tigers were placed in the October totes and delivered to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh on October 21. A big thank you to Jenn and everyone who supported this fundraiser!
Thank you Junior Troop 10512 for all your help filling the totes on October 20. The troop, along with their leaders and parents, filled 60 more totes. The tote assembly went quickly and smoothly with all the help!
September Helping Hands
Members of Meridian United Presbyterian Church in Butler, PA collected items and donated colorful, hand made quilts in September 2010. The quilts will be a wonderful addition gift and an extra comfort to the kids! All the items will be used to help fill 60 more totes in October. Thank you!

60 more totes were assembled on September 15, 2010 . It takes an average of 110 hours and many, many helping hands to prepare for the monthly tote assemblies. Many thanks to everyone who helped prepare for September's assembly. Thank you to those who packed the totes on the 15th. They will be delivered to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh on Monday, September 20.

July Helping Hands


60 more totes were filled on July 21st 2010. A big thanks to our helpers! The adults represented the MOM's Club of Cranberry South and GFWC Cranberry Women's Club along with two special young girls. They all donated an hour and a half of their time and did a great job getting all the totes packed. The totes were delivered to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh on July 22nd.
June Helping Hands

Several community groups helped pack totes on June 16, 2010. Women from Harmony Zelienople UMC MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) , Hunter's Creek Small Group , and the Mom's Club of Cranberry North. In addition to their helping hands many of the women brought items with them to help fill totes. Their donations are worth approximately $125.00. The items are greatly appreciated and will be used to pack totes in July.
April and May Helping Hands
Spring 2010 Avon Fundraiser. Jennifer r Kaufman , an Avon Representative from Zelienople raised more money for Project hope through her home business. Jennifer was able to donate $200.00 from this sale along with 60 Valerie Plush Bunnies to add to the totes. Thank you to all who purchased bunnies or other products. The bunnies were placed in the totes in April and delivered to kids to cuddle!
South Butler Primary School collected items during a drive in April. The donations are valued at approximately $450.00. Thank you to the students, teachers and staff. Your donations will be used to help fill totes in May.
The Mom's Club of Cranberry North collected items valued at $160.00. These items were donated in April and will be used to help fill the May totes. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

Anna Phillips collected $60.00 in item donations. These donations will be used to help fill totes in May. We appreciate your kindness. Thank you Anna!

Keystone Martial Arts, located at The Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA, Cranberry Township collected donations during their annual Spring item collection. Students and teachers donated items valued at approximately $250.00. These donations will be used to help fill totes in May. Thank You!

February's Helping Hands
Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople utlized the Sunday School hour to create 60 totes from items donated by members.
January's Helping Hands
Girl Scout Cadette Troop 20492 from Cranberry, PA helped assemble 60 canvas tote bags in January. They created some hand made cards that were a special addition to the totes. They were also able to donate items. Thanks for your help and your generous donations!


November's Helping Hands
Thursday, November 19th we had many helping hands to pack tote bags! Pictured are: Girl Scout Troop 22557 & siblings from troops 20923, 20823 and 20537 ABC Mom's Group from St. Ferdinand's Church in Cranberry Township And Jason Swarts, Corbin Costa & Alex Costa. The ABC Mom's Group collected over $350.00 worth of items to help fill November's totes. Thank you ABC's for your wonderful donations!

The totes were delivered to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh on November 20, 2009 with help from a young assistant. They were received by volunteer staff members Kevin Urda, Volunteer Coordinator and Mary White, Administrative Assistant.

Mom's Club of Cranberry South
The MOM's Club ® of Cranberry Township South held a Preschool Fair and Basket Raffle to benefit Project Hope. The group raised $800.00 during this event. Thirteen preschools participated in the fair and thirty businesses donated products to fill the baskets. We are grateful to the many women who generously donated hours of their time and many talents to make this event a success!


Hillman Center for Pediatric Transplanation
Two of the baskets won during the fair were donated back to Project Hope. They were received by Laura Stabile, MSW and Kathy Lawrence, MN, RN Clinical Nurse Specialist, Hillman Center for Pediatric Transplantation, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh . They will deliver these baskets to children in the cardiac unit. We hope these gifts will a bring a bright spot to the day of the kids!

Delivery To Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh
60 totes were delivered to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh's new location in Lawrenceville in May. Mary Diesing, Volunteer Coordinator receives the totes.

Brownie Troop Helps Project Hope
Brownie Troop 512 of Zelienople, PA helped to assemble 60 totes in May 2009. They were able to add a Bentley Bear to each tote for children in the hospital to hug! The stuffed animal donations came from an AVON fundraiser held in May. Jennifer Kaufman, Avon Representative, generously donated 50% of her profits from a Spring sale to benefit Project Hope. Many thanks to everyone who supported this fundraiser!

Riverside National Honor Society Makes Significant Donation to Project Hope in March 2009
As part of their ongoing mission of public service, student leadership and academic excellence, the Riverside High School chapter of the National Honor Society voted to donate $1000 to Project Hope of Zelienople. Project Hope was identified by the student leaders in The National Honor Society, and specifically by Miss Chloe Bartell, Riverside NHS member, as an exceptional and worthy local charity, as several Riverside students have been directly touched by Project Hope's mission. Miss Bartell donated 34 hours of service to Project Hope while working on her senior project during the 2008-2009 school year. Mrs. Nancy Avau is the National Honor Society Faculty Sponsor.

Project Hope Delivers to The Children's Home
30 totes were provided to The Children's Home in Pittsburgh for the first time in March 2009.
